Time For a New Bra?

Time For a New Bra?

Just like that fave pair of jeans, many of us have a go-to bra that spends just a little too much time in the weekly rotation. The problem is that while well-worn denim is a great foundation for countless outfits, your sad, stretched out bra is decidedly not. Don't worry, we're here to help. Read on for five signs it's time for a new bra!

1. You're Uncomfortable

Wires poking? Straps digging? If you feel uncomfortable while wearing any of your bras, you're likely wearing the wrong size or style. The best bras are the ones you forget you're wearing. Not the ones you're dying to take off. We promise there's a better bra out there for you! Book a fitting with one of our experts or check out some of our faves here.

2. Your Bra is on the Tightest Band Clasp

When you've purchased a bra in the proper size, the band should fit snugly on the loosest clasp - at least in the beginning. Most of your bra's support comes from the band, which will stretch out over time. By starting on the loosest band setting, you've got room to adjust the band as it stretches with wear. If you've made it to the tightest clasp on a bra, its days are numbered!

3. Your Straps are Falling Off

If your bra straps are continually falling off even after tightening them, you've either worn out your bra or it was never right for you to begin with!  We can help you find a bra you love that won't require fidgeting throughout the day, cause you have better things to do.

4. Your Weight has Changed

If you've recently had a change in weight, chances are you need new bras. We all notice quite quickly if our clothing feels looser or tighter, but many women will go on wearing the wrong bra size for years after changing dress sizes. Just remember that your bra size isn't fixed - it will change with age, weight fluctuations, hormone cycles, you name it. Check in with one of our experts or measure yourself at home to see if you're still wearing the right size.

5. You're a New Mom

The changes that women's bodies experience during pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding are pretty incredible. Whether your cup size fluctuates significantly or not, the breast tissue itself can change, causing your pre-baby bras to fit differently. While we don't recommend that our breastfeeding Moms invest in a whole new bra wardrobe until a few months after weaning, it's nice to have one or two well-fitting options that make you feel great in the meantime!
